Accessibility and Inclusivity Policy
Organic Psychology is committed to providing affirming, respectful, and accessible psychological care for all clients. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and identities, including neurodivergent clients, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) clients, and those with lived experience of disability, trauma, or systemic marginalisation. I am committed to working through an intersectional lens that recognises how multiple aspects of identity can shape experience.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Practice
I actively affirm neurodivergent identities, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and alternative communication styles. Our practice is:
Dissociation-aware and trauma-informed
- Supportive of clients with internal systems or multiple parts (e.g., those living with dissociative experiences)
- Flexible with sensory needs and session pacing
- Welcoming of stim tools, movement, silence, or non-linear communication
Inclusive Communication
I aim to make communication clear and adaptable. On request, I can incorporate:
- Plain language explanations
- Visual aids, diagrams, and digital tools
- Written or recorded summaries of session content
- Shared planning tools or visual schedules
Session Flexibility
I understand that traditional session formats do not suit all clients. To support accessibility, I offer:
- A choice between 50-minute and 80-minute sessions
- Adaptable session structures (e.g., more breaks, slower pacing)
- Goal-setting that respects individual rhythms and readiness
These adjustments are aligned with trauma-informed and neurodivergent-inclusive practice principles.
Culturally Safe Practice
I strive to create a culturally safe, respectful, and non-pathologising space for clients from diverse cultural, spiritual, and linguistic backgrounds. I acknowledge the impact of systemic oppression on mental health and are committed to ongoing learning, humility, and reflective practice.
Access to Services
While the physical clinic environment may have limitations, I offer telehealth services to ensure access for clients who may face barriers to in-person attendance.
I am open to discussing any specific access needs or adjustments required to support your participation in therapy. Please don’t hesitate to raise these with me at any time.
I believe that healing is most effective in spaces where people feel seen, respected, and understood. Accessibility and inclusivity are not add-ons — they are integral to how I work.
